Morbid True Story

Post by MacPhantom » Sun Oct 18, 2009 11:15 pm

Anybody else hear about this? "Neighbors thought dead man's body was part of Halloween display"... http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me ... 8556.story

That gives me the shivers. If I died on my front porch tomorrow, people driving by would think I'm part of my decorations.......

I heard about this on the radio yesterday.
Very sad and scary too...to think that people would just walk on by and not realize it's someone actually passed on out there.

Neighbors don't watch over each other much anymore.

that's crazy!! could you imagine what the neighbors were thinking when they found out?
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

That is very sad, but it's not the first time something like happened. There was a guy who worked in an office. He was very quite, minded his own business, and came to work at the same time every day. He was usualy the first one there and the last one to leave, and often was too busy to answer anyone unless they had somethign important to say. Well, the guy died at his desk. For about a week, people came into work, said "hi" to the guy, he didn't answer, which was common place, and then one guy had to ask him a question, and that's when they noticed that he was dead.

Truely sad.

after a week of being dead he would be so decomposed he would stink to high heaven.......heck after a few hours you start to smell, theres no way he could be dead a week and no one would notice in a building walking past him.

Yeah, that sounds kind of urban-legendy to me. Outside on a third floor balcony is one thing... but in the middle of an office building? Unless it was a sulfur match company, I have a hard time believing it....

OMG that is terrible. The smell is very distinct and I think people would HAVE to notice. I hope this isn't true.

Not so hard to believe.

I've lived in California for 20 years and sometimes the best place to be completely alone is in a crowd of tens of thousands of people.

I lived in downtown San Jose for 11 years and really didn't know a single neighbor.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

It is sad, and that was the shortest article in the history of articles.
