Cell phone allowed in haunted attraction?

Post by iHaunt » Mon Jun 21, 2010 5:31 pm

Do you allow cell phones in??

Would like to hear any problems... negatives, and positives on anybody that has a cell phone rule in the haunted attraction.

Thanks in advance. ;)

I won't tell you exactly how I feel about cell phones, but I'm sure after reading the following sentences, you will figure it out in no uncertain terms.

I saw a movie a couple of years back. I can't for the life of me remember the title of it. It was about a group of troubled teenagers who were arrested, and were sentenced to community service. Their job was to clean up this old creep hotel. Little to their knowledge, there was a very dangerous serial killer lurking around in that old building. There was this one character in that movie a girl who's allways yammering on her cell phone. Boyfriends, girlfriends, you name it. YACKITY, YACKITY, YACKITY YACK. Anyway she runs into this serial killer, and he takes the cell phone away from her and litteraly shoves it down her throat. He actualy made her SWALLOW her cell phone.

I do not own a cell phone, and I DON'T WANT A CELL PHONE. I may have to get one for work, but I would rather have THE HONG KING FLUE then a cell phone.

Oh, by the way, when I hear cell phones ring at Mass, or at the movies, I vividly remember that movie scene.

So you all now know how I feel about cell phones. PLEASE, IN THE NAME OF EVERYTHING HOLY AND DECENT, when you go to the movies, shut them off. Better yet, shut them off and leave them in the car.

Mike

Mike, you're a man after my own heart. I don't own a cellphone either. I sit beside a phone all while I'm at work. I have a land line at home. I don't want to be called when I'm out. If I wanted to be available, I'd be at home. If people needed to reach me, they can leave a message.

Cellphones shouldn't be allowed in and on in a haunt, IMO. They can provide light or sound distractions which could alter the dynamics of the haunt. Not to mention the frequency with which they're used makes them damned annoying. If I were a haunt actor, I'd pick on anyone who dared use a cellphone in my haunt.

I could go on... but Eh...

I could go on for ever, too Jadwik. I can't stand phones, period. There are 6 lines at my office that I have to answer at any given time. Additionaly all 4 of my co workers have cell phones, and they ring incessantly at times. When I'm in that beautiful new Mercury of mine, all I want to hear is the stereo system. When I'm out on my motorcycle, I can't answer the phone anyway, so why should I be annoyed by it's ringing. I think cell phones whould not be ermitted in movie theatres or churches, either. As for haunted attractions, I quite agree with you. I actualy told someone to shut that "damn thing" off in Disney World's Haunted Mansion, because it's ringing really did detract from the experience. Another time, while at Mass, some one's cell phone went off right in the middle of the Consecration of the Host. It was a very anoying "La Kukaratcha" ring tone, and it could have not rang at a mor INAPPROPRIATE time then when the priest is lifting the host to consecrate it.

Funny thing; I recently replaced my 10 year old Motorola cell for the Droid and I almost never use it for talking.

The thing I use it for is browsing. It's so much like a regular 'puter it's scary.

I'm with Mike, I never wanted a cell phone or a home phone even but with the wife out working and the kids in school I needed a phone at home just in case there was an emergency. I resisted getting a cell for a long time but I finally got one, I hardly use it tho...

I remember now. I was envious of the color when you first posted it.

I'm sorry; you are not a Luddite.
