Since I never plan on having kids, I think the only thing I'd have to worry about is the trick or treaters.
I could always keep the scarier decorations inside.

I keep it kind of fun/"low" scary up until about 7 pm and then we make it scarier. I figure by 7 all of the little-little kids are done and then it is time for us to have fun!
