These kind of stories will never go away though. There will always be people saying the world is gunna end on a certain date.
I agree. All we can do is hope for the best.
That is true.

If the world does end, then with some of the predictions that have been thrown about, we wouldn't know much about it anyway! It would all happen pretty quickly, especially the black-hole prediction! :)

Yes that's true. I won't worry about it either. If it happens, it happens!

I guess by now you've all heard about the NASA satellite falling towards earth where it will crash? (Depending on what's left of it after coming through the atmosphere).

In George A. Romero's 'Dead' franchise, wasn't radiation from a crashed satellite one of the fan theories for the outbreak?

Just saying!

That is true.

I would just ask some of them what made them do their awful crimes. That's what i'ld ask the Serial Killers anyway. I wouldn't wanna try & get inside their minds though like a psychologist - it'll be too scary!

Jack Skellington wrote:Do you believe something is going to happen NeverMore?
Most definitely. Will it happen in my lifetime? I almost hope so. Every day I see people being so mean spirited toward each other, makes me think this world needs a cleansing. Though I would feel sorry for all my friends and acquaintances who have kids.

How will it happen? Collapse of the USA? Asteroid whacking the Earth? I don't know, but I like to keep an open mind about things. Is that an artificial satellite that's about to crash into the Earth, or is it an alien craft that NASA has been tracking? I don't always believe the official story. Yeah, I'm watching 'Ancient Aliens' on History Channel right now.

For the longest time people thought the Earth was flat. It was the rebels with the open minds that changed that belief. For the last hundred years or so we thought nothing could go faster than light, turns out Einstein was wrong. Is the world going to end? Yes. Definitely. Maybe tomorrow, maybe four billion years from now.

I know one thing for sure, I'd rather be prepared for the collapse of our society and be wrong, than not be prepared and have it happen. Even then, I'm not a tinfoil hat wearing nut. I'm not going to move to Montana and buy a bunch of guns. Hopefully my bugout bag will serve me fine. In fact, it came in real handy a couple weeks ago during the blackout.

I learned something new though. First thing I did after I found out the electricity was going to be out for a while was go buy some ice. By the time I found an open store they had no change left. The guy in front of me only had a ten spot to buy a $5.23 bag of ice. He had to let them keep the change since he really wanted the ice. I've always kept a stack of $100 bills in the house in case the ATMs went down. Now I'm adding stacks of $1, $5 & $10 bills to my stash. No! I'm not telling you guys where I hide it. :P

Interesting thought about the various denominations of money. It's not a bad idea to keep some on hand for emergencies.

About the "flat-earthers"--I don't think very many people in antiquity actually believed the earth was flat. For many centuries, educated people believed in the Ptolemaic view of the cosmos--the earth was the center of everything, but it was round, encased in a number of spheres, where all the planets and stars were fixed and circling the earth all the time. Anyone who lived near a harbor knew that ships would appear first by their masts, or disappear last by their masts. Since people could come back to harbor after they had sailed out, most people probably "got it" that the ship was only seeming to disappear because of the curvature of the earth.

What caused the uproar back in the 16th or 17th century wasn't the idea that the earth was round, but that it was not the center of the universe. That was a tough battle.

I've studied many centuries of Western literature, so I always defend the intelligence of people who lived centuries ago. They were not very different from us, and they were plenty smart.

I've seen 'Ancient Aliens' too NeverMore. I enjoyed it. You never know, maybe it is an alien spacecraft?

You're right about the smartness of people from centuries ago. I like watching shows on the ancient egyptians, boy they were smart! :)

I Imagine you would meet a lot of bad guys down there. Adolf Hitler, Al Capone, John Wayne Gacy, Geoffery Dalmer, Sadam Husane, Osama Bin Laden, Ted Bundy, just to name a few.

I don't even like to think about hell, though.

You might not meet anybody at all. In Christian theology, Hell is the separation from God. I sometimes think that a person might just be alone in the dark, forever.
