Well, I think I did comment about the "scariness factor" in my original post. I said costumes like that aren't designed to be scary. They are designed to be naughty and provocative.

I guess a person can always make him/herself look more demented with make-up and maybe a weird wig.

In London during the Reign of Terror, I have read that some people used to wear red ribbon chokers around their necks, symbolizing the decapitation that was taking place across the Channel in Paris. I suppose a person could add something like that. Maybe some people would "get it," especially if you painted a few blood drops on your neck.

I think a costume like that one is always going to be somewhat suggestive, but you could probably throw people off-kilter by making yourself seem weird with the make-up, or zombie-ish with the bloody neck.

Nothing wrong with provocative but really, it's been done to death.

Leave something to the imagination for a change. "Oh look, it's another hooker in a mask."

I'm actually kinda tired of all the "sexy" costumes out there, they're shifting the focus of Halloween from what it's supposed to be and substituting it with secks. Girls can throw a costume party on some day other than Halloween to let their inner slut out.

I agree on this dude. I mean, you know, these girls could have worn something wholesome like that of the Candy Costumes or any other disney halloween costumes that could not offend any boyfriend or husband. Hmmmmm.

I think the Sexy costumes have their place and time...maybe not in the general population or TOT around kids but at an adult party or costume party I think it is fine. Also, if the woman wearing the costume is comfortable with it and her husband/boyfriend enjoys it as well...it's fine.

As Witchy pointed out...if you are wearing the costume for your man and you both enjoy that....I don't see a problem with it at all...in fact I would love if my wife/girlfriend would wear sexy costumes but in their time and place. If she is wearing it to make me jealous or mad...then that's a whole different issue wouldn't you agree?

On the issue of provocative costumes, I'm really neither here nor there. But is there any way we can get this knife fight going???
