I dressed as Daphne from Scooby-Doo (the cartoon version) for my Halloween party. I made this costume a few years ago and everyone gets a kick out it because it's so accurate. Since I have long, very copper red hair, I don't have to bother with a wig. It was a pretty easy costume to make. I couldn't find a plain purple dress, but I found a plain long-sleeved fitted purple t-shirt and short skirt the same exact shade and fabric (some kind of knit, stretchy cotton-blend fabric). Then I got some light purple 2"-wide ribbon that you trim baby blankets with and attached it to the ends of the sleeves, the bottom of the skirt, and around the middle of the skirt. What I did instead of sewing it was attach the ribbon with this no-sew tape. That stuff is really strong! There's one kind that you iron and the other, which is what I used, doesn't need to be ironed on. It will come off in the wash, but otherwise it's on good. I found some chartruese green material for the scarf, and pantyhose in the exact pink shade. Since I couldn't find a plain purple headband, I just painted a white headband light purple. I also painted an old white pair of shoes the same as the headband. I've had a couple of Halloweens where I wasn't in the mood to be Daphne, so since I have a lot of black clothing, I'd just put an outfit together and wear a witch's hat, so I wouldn't look like a plain, ordinary witch. The one thing about the Daphne costume that drives me absolutely NUTS is the scarf. It has to lay a certain way and I am not a drapy scarf person to begin with. The rest of the costume takes five minutes to get into, but that stupid scarf takes forever to get it just right. In previous years I've dressed as a cop since I have an authentic NYC police uniform. When I lived there, I was an auxiliary cop for a year. I've worn the uniform two ways -- professional, with the pants and flat shoes, with my hair up under the hat, or as the hot cop, with a mini-skirt, long hair and high heels.

Cool!
I went as Daphne one year, and then the next did the cop thing.
This year, zombie cheerleader.

I decided to be the Wicked Queen from Snow White. Would anyone care for a nice juicy apple?

Tomorrow is our office gig and frankly I have no idea.

Sometimes the pressure is too much if people know that you're the resident Halloween nut. :?

I did pick up 2 orange t-shirts at Michael's yesterday and went to town with glow in the dark paint and a JOL stencil, but honestly, it just ain't right.

Maybe I will wear the other one and my bright orange Crocs and hunting cap and go as some kind of Halloween spirit...?

No costumes allowed at my school. Tomorrow is the Black and Orange Ball though. I am going all out in my black and orange attire. Black knee pants. Orange and black striped socks. Black hoodie with orange pumpkins. Black and orange striped hood. Tall black witches hat. I think that will be fun enough.

My son had super hero day yesterday at school. We hot glued spiders all over a T and he wass "Spider" man. It was too funny for 7th graders!!!

Last weekend I was the big bad wolf and my daughter was little red. We had a tot camping weekend.

That sounds a lot like the teacher from the beginning of Hocus Pocus, Shanda.

That gives me an idea. I can get together as much black & orange as I can and just wear that plus a raccoon-type mask and make that my spirit of Halloween get-up.

Gracias, mucho!

Two Face from Batman (comic book Two Face not Tommy Lee Jones or Aaron Eckhart Two Face). I'll have to paint my own face and if it fails, I'll splatter some blood here and there and paint my entire face into a zombie.

I'd rather be Two Face though because he's one of my favourite comic book villains. :D

I'm aiming for that, but my hair is really short.

Hahahahaha! Well I'm no fashionista who goes into hissy fits if someone comes dressed the same. LOL It'd be cool to see each of our takes on it.
Yeah I agree about the cheerleaders all being zombies! lol The ones I cheered with were all little monsters anyway, attitude-wise!
